WAREHOUSE HELP (groups and individuals) needed Wednesday or Thursday afternoons, 2-4 pm. We have hampers of food & need your help sorting them before the food is distributed to our clients! Please call to arrange a time.
FAMILIES: Join us for Family Bagging nights, the second Monday of each month. Children as young as three can drop a can in a bag! No registration necessary. 6:30 p.m. start, here at our warehouse, 2708 S. Nelson Street.
INDIVIDUALS: Drop-in Night is the first Wednesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. Held at the AFAC warehouse. Cans of tuna, pasta, tomatoes, soup go into bags you prepare for the next mornings' distribution to families. No registration necessary.
INDIVIDUALS: Join our chicken bagging team! Bulk chicken purchased at wholesale prices is re-bagged for our clients on the 2 nd and 4 th Wednesdays of each month. Wear your old duds and we’ll provide aprons & gloves. 6:30 p.m. at AFAC. No registration necessary.
INDIVIDUALS: Join the 4th Friday evening bagging team, 7 p.m. Extended commitment preferred.
GARDENER? AFAC's Plant A Row for the Hungry (PAR) program is looking for volunteers to grow extra vegetables or contribute their surplus to our pantry. Free seed packets available for this project. Plant a Row for the Hungry, a national grass roots project, brings fresh produce from community gardeners to local food banks & food pantries. Join us. SUMMER TEENS: Teens, 14 and up, are invited to help at AFAC over the summer months, in the office or in the warehouse. Flexible hours & days, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 1 pm.
