Evening Volunteer OpportunitiesBagging and Distribution teams. Volunteer groups come in almost every evening to prepare brown grocery bags with six or seven items. This is an assembly line process and usually takes less than an hour. On Thursday nights, volunteer groups distribute food to clients. We have regular volunteer groups for most nights but we encourage new volunteers to contact us for future opportunities. Family Bagging night: the second
Monday of each month, starting promptly at 6:30. Ideal for families with children ages 5-10 years of age. Family Bagging Night has become very popular. Families now need to register before coming. Please email us to sign up.
Chicken bagging, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, starting promptly at 6:30 pm. Bulk chicken is purchased at wholesale prices and is re-bagged for our clients at AFAC. Wear your old duds and we provide aprons and gloves. Please email us to let us know you're coming. Children ages 10 and older are welcome to volunteer but should be closely supervised by their parents. Please arrive promptly at 6:30 for Bagging Nights to receive instructions from the supervisor. Latecomers may be turned away. We also ask that you bring a completed copy of the Volunteer Profile Sheet and signed copy of the Minor Hold Harmless form for children under age 18. harmless form Grocery store pick-ups. This is a
vital part of our work. Volunteers go in their own vehicles on a
scheduled basis to grocery stores in our area to pick up food
donations. 60% of the food AFAC distributes is donated. These are some of the many ways you can further our mission here at AFAC. We hope you can join us!
