Gardening Volunteers Needed
Ball-Sellers House Garden:
Volunteers are needed to help plant and maintain a new AFAC Plot Against Hunger garden at Arlington's oldest house, the Ball-Sellers house (ca. 1760). The house is located in the Glen Carlyn neighborhood. You'll be growing vegetables planted during the colonial period and harvesting them for AFAC clients. Some gardening experience preferred. Want to lend a hand? Contact coordinator Michael Polovina at mspolovina@verizon.net.
Planning your vegetable garden?
Gardeners from area schools, churches and community gardens have started browsing AFAC’s groaning shelves, to select seeds for their AFAC Plots Against Hunger. If you’re planting for AFAC this year, do stop by AFAC, 2708 S. Nelson Street, for some free seeds. Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 pm, Saturday, 11:30 am -1 pm. Want to volunteer as a gardener for AFAC? See: http://www.plotagainsthunger.afac.org for information.
Please contact volunteer4afac@afac.org for
