Dog Walk and Yappy Hour

On Wednesday, May 29th, we're having our yearly dog walk and yappy hour. For a donation of $5, you and your pooch can take a short walk around the residential areas of Clarendon with other AFAC supporters, followed by a yappy hour on the patio at Mexicali Blues. We'll gather at 6:15 pm on the sidewalk next to the Herndon & 13th St dog park in Clarendon (map here) and start the walk at 6:30 pm. We'll arrive at Mexicali Blues no later than 7:30 pm to cool down with a drink. We'll also be joined by volunteers and dogs in need of loving homes, and Passionately Pets will be providing pet-related swag! So leash up, put on your walking shoes, and meet us in Clarendon at 6:15 pm on May 29th! Remember to bring a $5 donation to participate. Although this is a dog walk event, you do NOT have to have a dog to participate. You can come and walk with us without a furry, four-legged friend. If you plan to join us, please RSVP to young.professionals@afac.org so that we can communicate with you in case of weather-related cancellation. Walkers are responsible for their own food and drink at yappy hour.

Speed Dating

Tuesday, June 11th, we're teaming up with Professionals in the City for a speed dating event! It's just $25 in advance with our promotional code, and a portion of the proceeds from the evening's event will be donated to AFAC. Join us at 7 pm at Zen Bistro in Pentagon City to meet new people and benefit a cause you care about. You'll have the chance to mingle, meet people one-on-one, and after the event, use Professionals in the City's exclusive online system from home to choose your matches from the people you met. Without having to disclose your email address, you'll be able to send messages through our system to anyone who attended. The event will have a cash bar. Register online by going to this link and don't forget to use AFAC's special promotional code, valid only online - AFAC11794 - to save $5 on registration!
